ARCO
Pre-Planning with DOMs Reduces Permitting Costs
Times have changed in oil and gas exploration. When acquiring 3D seismic data, "you can’t just roll across the prairie any more; it’s more complicated than that!" says Kevin Ferdinand, a staff geophysicist with ARCO Permian. Ferdinand is a strong proponent of Tobin's Digital OrthoMaps® (DOMs), especially after their use on many phases of a challenging and diverse 3D seismic project near Odessa, Texas.

Chevron
Using TopoVue™ as a Means to Quality Control all Survey Data - X, Y and Z
Chevron’s Dennis Bones has discovered the value of plotting independently surveyed elevation coordinates on georeferenced TopoVue™, digitized USGS 7.5-minute quad topographic maps, supplied by Tobin, as a means to quality control (QC) all survey data – x, y and z. As a senior staff geophysicist for one of the company’s exploration business units, Bones in involved in most, if not all, of the seismic acquisition projects conducted by his unit each year.

Mid-America Pipeline
Digital Land-Base Maps Permit Nearly 50 % Timesavings For Pipeline Resurveying and Mapping
The rigors of resurveying and mapping an acquired pipeline can be daunting. MidAmerica Pipeline Co. has made its surveying and mapping more profitable by applying mainstream PC-based software, global positioning systems, and digital land-base maps...By David McGee.

SECPA
Southeast Colorado Power Association (SECPA) is typical of rural power service providers
SECPA contracted with Tobin International, Ltd to provide digital maps to replace the original hand drawn Truck Maps. To ensure that the new maps were accurate, Tobin took the work orders from the past 5 years and incorporated the changes made to the original infrastructure into the new digital Truck Maps. The changes to the maps were presented back to SECPA as “red-lined” maps. SECPA then reviewed the changes for accuracy and made any needed corrections so that the actual configuration of the assets are correctly reflected in the new maps.
