Tobin's Pipeline Information Management Center

Tobin's Pipeline Information Management Center brings it all together with a set of tools designed to support the pipeline industry. The power of the Information Management Center is evident in the fact that all of these tools operate on a common architecture and make use of Tobin's extensive map data and imagery repositories. This gives the client a real head start on implementing an enterprise information management solution. The center, therefore, allows them to focus on bringing together their proprietary information, rather than having to develop all of the supporting land base and imagery components.

In order to bring the center together, TOBIN has worked closely with its strategic business partners to provide additional data, software and services not offered by TOBIN. These best-of-breed products have already been integrated into the Information Management Center, thus minimizing the risk and costs associated with integrating these products.

The center is built on the TOBIN Tools + Framework utilizing Tobin's Relational Exchange geo-spatial data structure, T-REX™, and Tobin’s Image Data Management system, IDM.

T-REX™ is Tobin's relational data model which stores geo-spatial information in its lowest form of points, lines and polygons. One of the true strengths of T-rex is its ability to support transactional updates of the geo-spatial data.

IDM is Tobin's Image Data Management System that stores geo-referenced imagery within a database structure. Imagery of varying scales, resolution and vintage can easily be retrieved from any module within the Pipeline Information Management Center.
