Risk Management
TOBIN is working with Plexus Data Solutions, LLC in the area of risk management. Plexus’s IntegrityCS risk analysis tool performs risk analysis on multiple sections of pipeline using various data sources including GIS and other database structures. Results are presented in ad-hoc reporting, graphing, and GIS display.
Features:
- Connects to multiple data sources in various formats including Oracle, SQL Server, Access, ESRI SDE and Intergraph
FRAME.
- Operates on various data structures through the built-in data plug-in layer including ISAT, PODS, Intrepid and other data structures.
- Creates risk variables by direct assignment to tables and fields in the various database connections.
- Creates risk factors by use of an equation builder that combines the risk variables into complex equations for analysis.
- Assigns indexes to the results of the risk factors for an indexed based score.
- Creates calculated index variables by use of an equation builder to combine the index scores into complex equations. The user may specify the calculation method including dynamic segmentation, averaging or summing over a valve section, averaging or summing over a sliding scale, and averaging or summing over the pipeline segment selected for the analysis.
- Creates both Micro station and AutoCAD compatible output files.
- Creates and implements "what if" scenarios with cost benefit analysis for the evaluation of possible remedial measures on the pipeline.
- Computes risk scores based on the risk factors, indexes, calculated Indexes, and "what-if" scenarios. Risk results will be computed using dynamic segmentation along the pipeline.
- Calculates High Consequence Areas (HCA’s) along the pipeline by drawing a circle of radius predefined by a risk factor equation and counting the number of houses within the circle at a user-defined step distance along the pipeline. The user is able to set the tolerance for HCA definition by the number of structures within the circle and the presence of code 3 structures within the circle.
- Results are viewed using "Ad-hoc" reporting which allows the user to view raw data, risk factors, indexes, and calculated indexes.
- Results are graphed using "Ad-hoc" graphing which allows the user to view raw data, risk factors, indexes, and calculated indexes. The user is able to click at any point on the graph and view all data at that location.
- Results are plotted using a GIS display that allows the user to view raw data, risk factors, indexes, and calculated indexes. The user is able to assign colors to the data based on a range or direct assignment. Pipeline segments are plotted color coded as specified by the user. The user is able to click at any point on the GIS and view all data at that location.
