Tax Management Tool
TOBIN's Tax Management Tool is designed to collect and maintain tax information to support tax analysis and calculations. Information is maintained to support tax audits for current and prior years. Tax entity boundaries can either be imported from files received directly from the taxing authority or they can be created from scanned geo-referenced tax maps. Each tax boundary polygon is linked with database attributes that provide the information required to calculate either advalorem or franchise taxes. The Tax Management Tool accesses the facility information which is stored within the Information Management Center and overlays it on the tax entity boundaries. The tool allows the user to extract the facility information that is within the taxing boundary. This information is used to compute the appropriate tax amount. The process can be done for a single taxing entity, a pre-defined geographic area or for all facilities stored within the Information Management Center.
