Tobin Digital Orthophotography provides a good way to obtain image data fast. The benefits of using digital technologies to correct and integrate data for more precise mapping is becoming increasingly clear to professionals in many industries. Digital orthophotography and related digital technologies are a cost-effective, timely solution to improving locational accuracy of data, and are used to verify locational relationships, integrate varying data into a common database, and to facilitate efficient survey planning and execution. If your area of interest is not covered, Tobin offers a custom service.

  Tobin Digital Orthography product:
• Represented and displayed in a digital format by subdividing the image into small
equal-sized and    shaped pixels, representing the brightness of each area with a
   numeric value or digital number.
• Identification of land cover establishes the baseline from which monitoring activities
(change detection) can be performed, and provides the ground cover information for
baseline thematic maps. Land cover refers to the surface cover on the ground,
whether vegetation, urban infrastructure, water, or bare soil. Identifying,
delineating and mapping land cover is important for global monitoring studies,
   resource management, and planning activities.
• Land use applications involve both baseline mapping and subsequent monitoring, since
timely information is required to know what current quantity of land is in what type of use
and to identify the land use changes from year to year.
• Tobin is the first company to have a total Landsat coverage of the continental U.S. with a
   1993 and a 2000 mosaic image.

Uses:
1. Change detection
2. Provides ground cover information for baseline thematic maps
